Strategies

Over 200 parents, caregivers, youth and local organization representatives from 90 partner organizations volunteer monthly. They meet to develop community-decided strategies, to be implemented by the partner organizations.  By working together, partner organizations ensure that efforts are not duplicated, and resources are utilized in the most efficient way.

Strategies are developed to empower Waterbury youth, from cradle to career, in the following areas:

  • Promote positive social/emotional skills
  • Promote early literacy
  • Ensure youth graduate from high school on time
  • Provide post-secondary education and career access for youth

In addition, BTS partners promote, support, and nurture parent/caregiver skills as their child’s first/main teacher
